Same kitchen, different job

  • Tasty

Built for finding a dish and cooking it.

From BuzzFeed: a big library of recipes, with videos and a step-by-step cooking mode.

Great if you want an idea for tonight and a video to cook along to.

  • ReciMe

Built for keeping the recipes you find.

Saves recipes from Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and websites into cookbooks, with a meal planner and grocery lists.

Great if your recipes are scattered across your feed and your screenshots.

  • Foodoodle

Built for the parent who feeds everyone.

Dinner for the whole house, around everyone’s allergies, likes and evenings, with one grocery list, a family calendar and chores.

Great if you’re the one everyone asks.

Tasty and ReciMe start from the recipe. Foodoodle starts from the people at your table.

What comes off your plate

  • No more “What’s for dinner?”The week, decided. Plan all seven dinners in one go. Everyone votes from their own phone, and you make the call.
  • No more “Can Milo eat that?”Checked before it’s cooked. Every dinner is checked against everyone’s allergies and no-gos, and anything that may conflict is flagged first. A helper, not a guarantee.
  • No more “Who’s even home tonight?”Counted, not guessed. Anyone can say they’re out, and the servings follow. Practice runs into dinner? Foodoodle asks who’s out before you cook.
  • No more “Did anyone buy milk?”One list for the house. It builds itself from the week’s dinners, minus what’s already at home. Anyone can add to it.
  • No more “Whose turn is the dishes?”Chores that take turns. They skip whoever’s out, and kids with their own login check theirs off.
  • No more “Is Grandma still coming Sunday?”One family calendar. Practices, visits and dinner, on everyone’s phone.

And it stops being all on you. Everyone pitches in from their own phone. Kids get a profile you manage, or a login of their own.

Yes, it cooks too

The cooking is all there. It just works for the house.

  • One recipe book. Paste a link or a video, scan a cookbook page, or write it down. How the book works.
  • Cook mode. One step at a time, the screen kept on, and a timer for every wait.
  • Scaled to who’s eating. Six eating from a recipe for four? The amounts scale, and so does the list.
  • Bring what you’ve found. Saw it on Tasty or saved it in ReciMe? Paste the link it came from, or screenshot it and scan it in. Links are free; scanning comes with the 7 days and a subscription.

Questions

Is Foodoodle a recipe app?

Partly. It keeps your recipes and has a cook mode, but it’s built around your household: who’s eating, what they can eat, what to buy and whose turn it is. The recipes serve that.

Can I keep using Tasty or ReciMe?

Yes. Keep them for ideas. When a recipe’s a keeper, paste the link it came from into Foodoodle and plan the week from it. Recipes come over one at a time, not as a whole collection.

Is it only for stay-at-home parents?

No. It’s for whoever runs the house, home all day or home after work. Co-parents, three generations under one roof and roommates plan the same way. Planning for a group.

Is it free?

The first 7 days are, with no card, and nothing is charged unless you subscribe. Then it’s $9.99 a month for up to 8 people, or $14.99 a month for up to 20, and 20% less paid by the year. For one person, Foodoodle is free: your recipes, your meal plan, the calendar and the grocery list.
